How to Repair a Bifold Door Top Pivot
The top pivot of bifold doors can become loose and scrape the floor. This can be fixed by loosening the set screw of the top bracket a bit.
The top pivot pin is a screw made from metal that fits into a cap made of plastic with an end that is lipped and stays in the track just above the door. You'll also need an screwdriver and perhaps a pair pliers.
Take off the Bottom Pin
Bifold doors are ideal to save space in a closet but they may begin to slide or scratch against the floor or pop out of their brackets. The good news is that you can repair the problem by making a few minor adjustments.
The most common problem is the bottom pin being loose or bracket. You can adjust the track by putting the spring-loaded wheel on the top of the door, and then moving it to the right the desired position. To remove the bottom pin take both panels at the sides and lift them slightly off of the lower track and off of their brackets. Release the locking levers on the bottom bracket to let the pin go. If bifold door roller replacement does not have a bracket for mounting, place a flat-head screwdriver between the bottom of the pivot flange and the door to pull it out of the door. Once you have a good grip on the pin and are able to pull it away and turn it left to right. If you are unable to remove the pin you may need to remove the panel from the track. Take off the pin with the highest point.

It can be difficult to complete this task by yourself So you'll need an assistant. Start by grabbing the outer and inner doors at the sides, then raise them up. Then stack them to make handling easier.
Release any locking levers on the pivot bracket. If not you can grab the top of the pin with a pair of vise grips, and twist it left to right before pulling it out. Repeat the procedure on the other side of the door. Once both pins have been removed, the door will open and align with the track. If this doesn't work then you can try again. You can use a drilling tool to straighten out the track if it's bent.
Reinstall the Bottom Pin
If the bottom pin isn't working correctly, the door could be stuck, preventing it from opening and closing easily. Fortunately, it's an easy fix. A damaged or loose mounting bolt is often to blame. If this is the situation, you should replace the screw by an alternative of the same length. Then screw it into place and tighten.
